Please note: For the purpose of Orientation, all undergraduates who are non-U.S. citizens and will be or are in F1 status should refer to our International Students section for more information regarding international student procedures. This includes both freshmen and transfer international F1 students. International graduate students may refer to our page for Graduate Students.

Remember…
Undergraduate level: You are pursuing a Bachelor degree.
Graduate level: You are pursuing a Master or Doctoral degree.

FRESHMAN STUDENT
You are considered an undergraduate college freshman if any of the following applies:
  • You have no previous college credits/coursework.
  • You have earned 1-29 college credit hours (these credits can include hours transferred from another college/university, dual credit, and Advanced Placement (AP) coursework).
  • You have not earned an Associate or Bachelor degree through TAMU-CC or another institution.
TRANSFER STUDENT
You are considered an undergraduate transfer student if any of the following applies:
  • You have earned 30+ college credit hours (these credits can include hours transferred from another college/university, dual credit, and Advanced Placement (AP) coursework).

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
You are considered an undergraduate international student if any of the following applies:
  • You are a non-U.S. citizen and will be or are in F1 status. For the purpose of Orientation, this classification includes all undergraduate international F1 students (both freshmen and transfer).
GRADUATE STUDENT
You are considered a graduate student if any of the following applies:
  • You have earned the minimum of a Bachelor degree through TAMU-CC or another institution.
  • You have been admitted and/or are working towards earning your Master or Doctoral degree.
